Privacy Policy

This is a personal site run by one person. I collect as little as possible, I do not sell anything about you to anyone, and you can have your data removed by asking. This single policy replaces the previous split between a third-party policy document and an older duplicate page.

The age confirmation

Adult sections of this site ask you to confirm you are a legal adult. Your answer is stored in your own browser (a sw_age_ok cookie and a matching localStorage entry) for one year so you are not asked on every visit. It contains nothing but the fact that you confirmed. Clearing your browser data removes it.

Newsletter

If you subscribe, I store your email address, your language preference, and which content you asked for. This is held in this site’s own database and in Listmonk, the software that actually sends the mail. Signup metadata such as IP address, browser/device string, and approximate location where available is retained as a consent record and to block automated signups.

Every email includes an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing stops all mail; ask me directly if you also want the record deleted rather than marked inactive.

Comments

Comments are moderated before they appear. I store the name you type, the comment itself, and optionally your email if you provide one. Your email is never published and is only used to reply to you. Ask and I will delete a comment of yours.

Contact form

Messages sent through the contact form are stored so I can read and answer them, and are protected by anti-spam checks. Nothing you send is published.

What I do not do

• I do not sell or rent your data.
• I do not run advertising trackers or third-party ad pixels.
• I do not tie your reading history to your email address.
• I do not require an account to read anything on this site.

Third parties

Some things necessarily leave this server: Listmonk for email delivery, Cloudflare for hosting and bot protection, and Cloudflare R2 for images. Links to external platforms (Patreon, Ko-fi, YouTube, subscription sites) take you to companies with their own policies, which I do not control.

Ask me for a copy of what I hold about you, a correction, or deletion, and I will do it. Email [email protected] or use the contact form. Please say which email address or comment name to look for so I can find the right record.
